Treatments for a Receding Hairline

While treatments for a receding hairline are few, there are some that are better than others. Propecia, which is a pill that men can take for receding hair loss should help men grow hair near their scalp line that will last for a long time. This pill may not work for everyone, but it has been tested and is effective in certain men. There are other treatments for receding hairlines such as creams, lotions, and sprays that can cost a lot of money and are not effective at all. If you want to try a cure for your receding hairline, you should try one that will need a prescription to obtain because at least you will know that it has been tested first.

Other treatments for receding include scalp surgery which involves cutting into the scalp and pulling the hairline forward to make the hair seem fuller in the front. This treatment does work, but it is not without its problems. Many men after having the surgery complain of a lump that is formed from placing part of the scalp on top of another part. This is difficult to see, but is noticeable when touched. Also, the hairline may seem unnatural. This can be corrected, but will cost more money.

While these treatments are not full proof, they do have higher results than other treatments that are sold in drugstores and health food stores. Be sure to read the labels before buying these treatments. Consult a doctor to see what your options are and what you can do about your receding hairline.
