Use Pictures In Your eBay Listings To Rocket Your eBay Sales Now
eBay Buyers really like pictures. In fact I would go as far to say the more pictures you include with your listings for your items the more they'll feel compelled into buying their item from you, and not from your competitors. In fact, there are hundreds of buyers who will literally abandon your auction within 5 seconds or less of arriving if they don't find a picture there waiting for them.
I accept adding photo's might seem a bit of a chore. In fact if you have never used them you will be amazed at the additional response and extra sales you recieve as a result of just using simple photo's. Go on you know it makes sense just imagine dozens more people looking at your listings and bidding higher than ever before, now what would that do for your business?
If you want to know why your customer likes to find photo's in your listings you don't have to look far.You will probably have noticed when scanning eBay youself that those listing you tend to have brought from have all had illustrations or photo's.Ask yourself why? I am guessing but it was almost certainly that these listings gave you more confidence in the seller am I right?
In addition it creates a strong bond of trust between you and your customer. They will feel reassured that you actually own the item and that it is in good condition (it is very hard to take a good photo of a shabby item) and that it is not damaged or defective in some way.
A digital photograph screams out to your customer saying buy me ... imagine I am yours. When searching for an item your customer will be looking to find what they want quickly and with minimum fuss. Often people are pressed for time maybe only having a few minutes to look during a work break or after a busy day looking after the children. Busy people want it now and as time is money they are often prepared to pay that little bit more to get what they want quickly.
So what could you do to make sure your pictures really do their job and bring in more sales and higher prices for your advertised items. I have given you a few pointers which should help ..
If it needs more than 1 or 2 photo's to really describe your item properly don't skimp.I accept eBay will charge you for using their service for each image but this problem is easily rectified, all you need is a web hosting account which will only cost a few bucks a month and you can load as many images as you want.
I understand that the thought of adding images to your own web space has probably sent you in to a blind panic but it really is not that difficult to do. But if you are not comfortable with this you can find video's all over the net and on my blog at http://www.auctionwealthsecrets.com/auctionnews .If that still leads you cold you can usually find a college kid or even your own kids will be able to do this for a few bucks for you.
Take better pictures. Use an image-editing program to touch up your pictures. There are plenty of choices -Ifranview (www.ifranview.com) is good, and free. Adjust things like brightness and contrast to make sure that buyers get the best view of your items. I personally use Adobe Photoshop but this can be quite expensive and maybe not needed until you have mastered other aspects of your eBay auctions first.
Improve your photography. In the online world you need to use a digital camera both for convenience and quality of images. Even a high end 35mm film will not hold a candle to a cheap digital camera image wise. But taking a good photo is about attention to detail look at your background and aim to get a clear image of your item with out distracting from your product.
When learning photography remember the old adage less is more, meaning keeping things simple works best choose a light colored base and a light colored background to photograph you items on.I like to use a lighter background as a general rule and on some occasions for small items a black or dark blue background can be very effective if lit well and properly mounted.
In a future article I will be looking at how you can enhance your listings even further by the use of digital video photograhy so check that out soon.
