Has A Disability Or Illness Kept You From Applying For Life Insurance? Read This.

Has disease or injury kept you from getting a life insurance policy? If so, I recommend that you don't quit just yet. Granted, there are some conditions that will definitely make you uninsurable, but unless you are certain you should get in contact with an insurance agent and try anyway.

Several years ago I I came across a an individual that was convinced that he couldn't buy life insurance coverage for himself because he was a diabetic. I told him that even though I understood his predicament, I was sure that it couldn't hurt to go ahead and fill out the paperwork, after all, you never know what will happen. You've probably already guessed, he was approved. I must be honest that even I was a bit taken aback, but it proves that it won't hurt to try. In this case, the Underwriter mailed a form back asking a series of medical questions and, |after seeing the answers|once they'd seen the answers|after going over the responses}, decided that this person was insurable after all.

I'm not going to sit here and tell you that if you have a serious condition that you'll qualify to buy life insurance. That wouldn't be right to you or reflect a professional image on my part. However, just because you happen to have a specific disease or condition does not immediately diqualify you from consideration for a life insurance policy.

The final decision maker is the above mentioned "Underwiter". The Underwriter reviews the anserwed questions and, after taking all things into consideration, they will make a final decision. This person's job is not to single you out or pick on you. They are simply protecting the interests of the company and nothing more. They have a written list of guidelines that they are made to follow when reviewing applications for life insurance and their decision isn't personal. The good news is that you may actually fall within these guidelines and not know that you're eligible. That's because you may have just assumed you couldn't be covered and that's not necessarily the case.

If you have a crippling disease or injury and need need to buy life insurance for yourself then, unless you've already been told that you're not insurable, why not answer a few questions? By answering these questions you'll know for sure whether you can get the coverage that your loved one's must have in the event of your passing.
