Five Tips For Finding Affordable Life Insurance
Does affordable life insurance really exist? Well, this depends on a few different things such as, are you married or are you single? Do you have any kids? How old are you? What industry are you working in for a living? Do you have hobbies that would be considered risky or even dangerous to most people? Things like flying a plane, swimming in shark infested waters, driving Nascar, ect.?
These five tips could help you find affordable life insurance.
#1. Don't take part in dangerous activities. Think about this for a moment. You wouldn't sell a life insurance policy to yourself doing those activities would you? Life insurance premiums are determined by using average statistics of others like yourself. They come up with your premiums by looking at statistics from other people your age over the previous year.
What this determines is that a certain percentage of people in your age group will pass away over a certain period of time. This means that you may be excluded from buying life insurance or have to pay an extremely high premium, because of your dangerous activities. Having your high risk bevavior excluded means that you would not be covered in the event that your death was attributed to your risky activity.
#2. Maintain good health habits. In other words, eat good foods, work out regularly and get eight hours of sleep. Watch your stress and spend time with those you care about. Bad habits are obvious. This means sex with one partner, stay in shape and stop smoking. Quitting smoking will save you a ton of money over time.
#3. Buy low cost Term Life. Term life insurance is substantially less expensive than Whole Life or Endowment policies. You could buy a Term policy for a ten or twenty year time frame, in order to get you to retirement age. Guaranteed Renewable Term is an option for you too, if your health is good. A Guaranteed Renewable policy is usually set for ten years, but you can renew it for life as long as you maintain the premium payments.
#4. Don't take the first thing that you find. Take a little time and talk to a few different qualified agents first.
Sit down after speaking to three or four companies and determine which policy is right for you. Ask any questions that you may have before signing any policy. Once you buy, review your policy closely through the thirty day "grace" period. Check it out thoroughly. Check for anything that you may not understand such as "exclusions" or "Modifications".
Don't wait to review the policy, but do it right away as your beneficiaries future depends on it , if anything happens to you. Don't wait to get your questions answered, call right away.
#5. Make a list of all your financial needs for now and the future years. You'll be able to figure out apx. how much insurance you'll need to buy by doing this. Make certain to include everything down to food, utilities, clothing, other insurance, pet care, hair cuts and anything else that you can think of.
Hopefully, these ideas have gotten you off on the right foot. Good luck!
