Affordable Dental Plans Are Out There - Read This
Do you need a hand finding an affordable dental plan? Many people do. Dental insurance really doesn't help much and the cost is outrageous! In other words, "no pre-existing conditions". Also, I can't get anything paid for that I'm currently having trouble with. Sorry, Charlie
I'm wondering what the point is of having it in the first place if they won't cover a "pre-existing" condition? Basically, what I'm being told is to buy dental insurance in advance of having a problem. I hope this coverage gets better after the year goes by. Hmmmmm. I have to crunch some numbers here. The average cost of dental insurance is around fifty dollars a month for an individual and one hundred for a family. Outrageous prices.
Let's say that I have a toothache and need to have it pulled. Basically, I'm being told to wait twelve months and pay $600.00 in dental insurance premiums in order to have a procedure covered that only costs, at most, one third of that? Gee, let me see. What do you mean I'm still not 100% covered after a full year? A 20% deductible still applies. Gee, I'm happy.
So is there an affordable dental plan out there that can really help me? Maybe, but I'm going to let you be the judge.
You might want to look into dental discount plans too. These plans have been hyped up quite a bit over the last few years as a great deal, but I decided to look into them for myself so I could make an "educated" decision. This is what I've found.
These Dental discount plans are very affordable. Many of these plans are under $150.00 annually for the entire family and less for an individual. Discount dental plans are exactly that, but not insurance policies.
This is how dental discount plans work.
First, you join their plan. This enables you to see any dentist within their network. These are the same qualified dentists that you're accustomed to seeing. Actually, you may have seen them in the past.
Discount plans simply offer you a much better price for each procedure, but the catch is that you must pay for the procedure
at the time of your visit. No billing the insurance company, no deductibles, no age limits, no exclusions and pre-existing
conditions are no problem. It's a good deal for the dentist because he gets paid cash on the spot by taking the discount.
Also, a network of several thousand dentists means buying power! Also, they can get incredible savings on everyday equipment they need for their business.
So there it is. Are dental discount plans a good deal or not? I'll let you be the judge of that.
