Not all cancers are the same. Some are deadly from diagnosis, but others are not. Skin cancer is preventable and treatable, but many people fail to take the steps to avoid it.

People refer to cancer as "The Big C". While it may seem as though all forms of the disease fall under one main categorization, there are actually more than 100 ailments that may be considered to be "cancer". Every type is different, but all are related to diseased cells in the body.

Although skin cancer usually happens to Caucasians, those who work outside, smokers and people with a family history of skin cancer, everybody is at risk these days as the statistics demonstrate. Cases of skin cancer have doubled every 10 years over the last 40 years and we need to take action to keep it from happening to us.
